FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU, Iraq - Leadership from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Iraqi Army and local Sheiks were all in attendance for the opening of a renovated Tunis Health Clinic near Iskandariyah, Dec. 31.

The previous clinic in the city was damaged by anti-Iraqi forces and slipped into a state of disrepair. The need to renovate the clinic was revealed during town council meetings. The reconstruction project was proposed to provide essential health services for the local citizens.

"It's what the people needed," said Capt. James Browning, commander of Company A, 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor, assigned to 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Benning, but operationally attached to 4th BCT.

"Now the people have a place where they can go that is fixed and has the capabilities of fixing basic health issues."

The clinic will have the capabilities to support more than 5,000 citizens in the Tunis region.
