Losing friend inspires girl to serve new country
CAMP VICTORY — The crashing of planes into buildings on 9/11 had several impacts — impacts on the United States, on the World, and on a 15-year-old Moroccan girl who had been on U.S. soil only seven months. Lamia Lahlou was out of school and waiting for a friend in the PATH train station located just under the South Tower of the World Trade Center when she said she heard a “boom.”
